The CARD is made up of Dominant Broodmare Sires in a very defined position in each of the lines.
Each of these lines are referred to as LINES rather than Bloodlines as they are very focussed in a specific position but the Bloodlines, for example Northern Dancer, will feature in various LINES in the CARD.
The CARD is made up in five (5) colour Bands, i.e. YELLOW, ORANGE, BLUEGREEN and GREY. There is a 6 group, but these are the Broodmare Sires that have not been analysed with sufficient input data to give them an accurate or useable Index.
Each group of Broodmare Sires end with an Index, referred to a Sire Index (SI), ranked from the highest or best rating to the lowest qualifying SI.
The SI’s in the CARD is being grouped into the various Colour Bands.
The Black Type Progeny of that specific Sire, if there are, are then placed in the CARD.
It will be clear that the best progeny should be highly placed in the CARD. Unfortunately, nothing will be scientifically placed in the expected position in the CARD as REAL life factors influence the final outcome of the ultimate potential of each horse.
Each CARD will be accompanied by Colour Strip with two Statistical Ratings, the first one being the Industry Rating for each Colour Band and the second one being the Actual Rating of the Sire in question. This will give one an indication where this Sire is positioned with regards to the Industry and the Breeder and Mare Owners can value the position of Sire and Mare to improve the Breed.
Each Colour Strip has a Rating in the form of a % which is the probability of success. For the YELLOW Strip it is around 39% and each Strip has it proven %. Do not compound these Colours to make a up a potential 95% if one breeds in the Colour Bands and only 5% in the GREY Band. This will skew the probabilities.
The Highest SI Rating is 1,000, but in case of some Sires the Highest can be 0,800; 0,600; 0,400 or 0,200, but that is due to the complexity of the Pedigree of the Sire in question. It does not diminish the quality of the Sire, Mare or CARD.
The Dominant Broodmare Sire is in a certain position, i.e. PS2, PS3 or PS4, but provision is made for PS5* as well. This only applies for the SIRE LINE of the Broodmare Sire!
The T-BAS is based on setting up the Sire Line of the Broodmare Sire.
Do not apply any of the other bloodlines of the mare to the CARD.
