One

The T-BAS development starts with the Broodmare Sire and his progeny mare who has produced Black Type Progeny.

For each category of Black Type Race, the progeny in question gains POINTS. A Group 1 winner has 50 points, a Group 2 winner, 40, Group 3, 35 and a Listed winner 30 points.
Placed horses in similar races earn less points, i.e. Group 1 placed horses gain 22 points, Group 2 placed, 20, Group 3 placed, 18 and Listed placed, 16.
BT and Stakes winners and placed horses also gain points, but these are only brought into contention of the T-BAS score card to make up NUMBERS.

Two

The T-BAS then moves to the Sires of these Black Type progeny and the FOUR MAIN Bloodlines of the Sires are placed in TABLES with their Bloodline Scores and the T-BAS ends up with 4 Bloodline TABLES.

Table 1 : The Sire Line
Table 2 : The Maternal Line
Table 3 : The Sire Maternal Line
Table 4 : The Dam Maternal Line

Three

Each SIRE in the market (those that we included in the program) that features with both the Sire and Maternal Lines are then scored according to the TABLES.

This gives us the Recommended Sire List for a specific Broodmare Sire, ranked according to the highest to lowest Recommended Sire Index (RSI).

Four

Clearly, the same Sires feature in various Broodmare Recommended Sire Lists and these Broodmare Sires are grouped together and then one will find the DOMINANT Broodmare Sire(s) in the pedigree of the Sire Line and these are place in the T-BAS CARD.

We therefore build an ALGORITHM for each Sire in a Line (as shown for Sadler’s Wells in the PS4 position below) to provide the most realistic figures to pinpoint a Sire - Broodmare combination like the very sharp point of a newly sharpened pencil.

Sadler's Wells in the PS3 position is the Dominant Broodmare Sire

The combination of points of the various BSI’s will then produce a Sire Index (SI) and that gives the Rating from highest, normally 1,000 and downwards.

Each of these DOMINANT Broodmare Sires is hereby referred as a LINE and in the CARD above we show 5 x LINES.

As for the T-BAS CARD, this is the TOOL necessary to select a Mare for the Sire or choose Sires for a mare with Sadler's Wells in the PS3 position or as per above, Danehill, Green Desert, Machiavellian and Gone West in the PS2 position.

How accurate is the System, please refer to the STATISTICS page, but take note of the Broodmare Sires above and you will notice the dominance of Danzig (Danehill & Green Desert) and Mr Prospector (Machiavellian & Gone West) in the PS3 position.

This pattern is not common for all Sires but in this case, it is extremely clear that certain Broodmare Sires in the pedigree is very dominant and if one breeds or buys inside this pattern, the risk of SUCCESS is very HIGH.

Please note that a NUMBER, such as “Danehill 16”, which means that there are 16 individual horses that have earned Black Type with the Sire in question, with a Group 1 winner as one of the top performers in this LINE as with Dansili in the sample above.

The T-BAS sets you up to breeding or buying a better horse.

You now have the opportunity to fine-tune the match with the introduction of your other mating ideas or to apply other known systems to improve your comfort level, while the application of the T-BAS can be sufficient to achieve your breeding target, but the T-BAS remains your starting point.

The T-BAS is based on setting up the Sire Line of the Broodmare Sire.
Do not apply any of the other bloodlines of the mare to the CARD.
